Rob Gibson
Rob Gibson grew up on the banks of the Solent where sailing was an important part of his childhood. He first trained as a civil engineer, eventually managing his own construction company and being involved in a number of important projects.
However, such activities are a long way astern, since he has been a prominent figure in the field of sail training for many years. He later owned and ran one of the South Coast's best known sailing schools, operating out of Poole and Cowes. Rob now sails his 50ft Rob Humphries designed racing yacht Hope and Glory/Unicef in many major events both at home and overseas. He has crossed the Atlantic to compete in Antigua Week and other local events. His numerous other activities are described in his sailing website.
Rob now has four informative and well acclaimed books in print. Namely:
